Sony W290 HD Movie Testing

Sony W290 HD Movie Testing Video Clips. Duration : 3.27 Mins.

This is a shooting test in HD 720P quality of Sony cybershot W290 at highest quality setting. The idea here is testing the quality of the colors, the speed of autofocus reponsiveness, and how low light of this camera can get. One important thing: This camera can't use the zoom while shooting movies. Zoom can be adjusted before shooting movies and photo. What I love: 28mm wide angle zoom (really needed) HD 720P at 30 fps (great quality movie) Carl Zeiss lens quality (high quality picture) Sony Colors Quality (very fresh and natural tones) Low light in movie capable (very big help for low light situation with low noise picture) What I dont like: No manual mode (big crying). It is very extreme difficult to get a good shot at a club, party or moving subjects or high speed photography since the camera always go down to the speed of 1/30 when it need more light. There is no Party or Club Scence mode in this camera. Sony should include another scence mode for high speed photography. With manual mode, I just increase the shutter to 1/125 or more and the flash fires a litle bit harder or increase the ISO higher that is simple and the pictures taking in club come out razor sharp not blurry when people are dancing. With this camera, even I increase ISO up to 800, the shutter is still sticking with the shutter at 1/30 when ever it needs more light. That is really suck. No zooming when shooting movies (that is ok) Water housing doesnt have microphone (too bad you have to add music to ...

Newly built rescue & filming rig for rc boating (JPriami)

Newly built rescue & filming rig for rc boating (JPriami) Tube. Duration : 5.08 Mins.

This makes v2 of my rescue rig. This time Ive incorporated a camera mount that can rotate 360 degrees with a tether line in case it comes off. Also some safety measures in case its in an accident out on the water getting hit by a high speed boat. If it were to break apart there are small ropes that will keep things together. The tubes are filled with great stuff expanding foam as well. I think in the future when I build another one I'd like to incorporate a camera mount that is on a slide that can go from underwater shots to 1.5 feet above the water. That would make for some neat footage. and maybe help find lost objects.

Tweed Salmon

Salmon waiting to spawn in the River Teviot, November 2007. The Tweed Foundation has purchased a small camera which has enabled footage to be taken during the autumn. Due to the abnormally low water conditions fish had been unable to ascend up most of the tributaries this autumn and, as the attached video clip shows, were stacking up at the mouths of their home waters waiting for the right conditions. This underwater video clip was taken in mid November at the bottom of a tributary on the Teviot Water where it was estimated there were around 1000 fish waiting for a rise in the water height so that they could reach their spawning grounds. To get the footage, an underwater camera was attached to the end of a telescopic pole. The fish shown here are mostly Salmon, although there is 1 large Sea-trout that can be observed near the end of the video clip. Part of this film was used by the BBC's "Autumnwatch" programme in November whilst filming spawning fish on Tweed.

I built an underwater swimming rig and put a tiny DXG-506V camera inside. The diving bell was made out of a 4 inch T-Value from Home Depot with 4" plexiglass circles hot glued in the ends.
